About the Gnarojin Community Garden

Our community garden was originally started in 2010, with Hotham Personnel establishing the beginnings of the garden; the hope was that it would help provide employment opportunities for some of their clients. It was established at the old Railway Bowling Green on Hale Street, Narrogin. The green had been out of use for sometime before the idea of utilising the area and turning it into a garden was formed.

As time moved on a new committee was formed in 2013 and through grants and donations, enough funds and materials were obtained to establish raised vegetable beds, a chook pen, composting system, reticulation, establish a variety of fruit trees, shelters and purchase gardening equipment.  In 2014 the gardens next big step was taken and the first Narrogin Farmers Market was held in May. These Markets help our garden raise funds, which are used to cover basic costs of running the garden.

The ongoing efforts of the garden are only made possible by the hardworking dedicated volunteers who put in their time and effort. We are always looking for new helpers. If you would like to be involved come on down or contact us through Facebook or via email. The more the merrier.

We are also listed on the Community Gardens WA website - see if you can find us!
